A look into the origins of the polinesian navy.

A retrospective look at the lasting legacy of Micronesian master navigator Mau Piailug, a native from the tiny Micronesian atoll of Satawal who revived the art of traditional non-instrument navigation and reawakened cultural pride throughout Polynesia. In Satawal, navigators are chosen at birth and begin training at an early age, and Mau was recognized as a master.
