Bono

Maxence Peyras. France. 2010. 52 min

In 2010 Antony Colas found an incredible wave somewhere in Sumatra.
4 French surfers and 1 cameraman went in this deep forest to surf the Bono for the first time ever. They found that amazing jungle river wave, which is not even find listed amongst the 55 rivers of the Tidal Bore Research Society (tidalbore.info). On the East side of Sumatra, there is the Bono, as the Kampar river dwellers call it, who actually fear that phenomenon since it has taken many lives in the past.
